Following the flooding of the Gwydir Valley way back in 1955, far-thinking residents of Moree and districts banded
together to formulate a method of warning residents of the future inundations. It was decided that a radio broadcast
station was the most effective solution. In 1957, 2VM broadcast for the first time. In subsequent years 2VM has
kept the residents of the Northern Inland of N.S.W. informed and entertained. And, yes! 2VM has warned, and will continue
to warn its listeners of flooding, not only in the Gwydir Valley but through the Namoi and Macintyre Valleys as well.

2VM, has been, and continues to be, the number one information station for the region. For well over half a century there
has been a solid constant in our community, informing, entertaining and educating. That constant is 2VM. And as we
love to say, 2VM, FEELING GOOD.

2VM broadcasts to the following towns and areas; Moree, Narrabri, Wee Waa, Goondiwindi, Collarenebri, Walgett,
Lightning Ridge, Mungindi, Boggabilla, not to mention we reach Warialda, Boggabri, Coonabarabran, Coonamble and
many other villages and communities across the Northwest and Southern Downs.
